Democracy in organisations as a prerequisite for the vitality of democracy in society. The special role of digital information systems.

We argue that this dichotomy is detrimental to the health of our democracies. There are many obstacles, but also some levers, to the advent of democracy within organisations. This presentation aims to analyse the role of digital information systems (IS) in organisational democracy, or indeed in its very possibility.
